Objective To investigate the effect of modified cotton pads on preventing facial pressure injury in patients with noninvasive mechanical ventilation in ICU. Methods Totally 80 patients treated with noninvasive mechanical ventilation in ICU who met the inclusion criteria were selected as the study objects, and were randomly divided into two groups, 40 patients in each group. Patients in the control group were used with conventional methods to prevent facial pressure injury. Patients in the experimental group were given modified cotton pads on both sides of the face and at the root of the nose to prevent facial pressure injury. The skin injury degree and facial comfort of the patients in the two groups were compared.
