The active study of the processes of historical memory formation in science as an indicator of social and cultural transformations of society necessitates deter-mining the place of Vladimir Vysotsky work in the historical and cultural discourse, as well as considering the methods that take place in the preservation of collective memory about the poet and the translation of the emerging narrative in Russian society. The purpose of the research is to study the formation of Vladimir Vysotsky’s image in the context of modern Russian society, as well as to consider museums and clubs of creative art lovers as a social phenomenon that influences the perception of the poet’s work in the public consciousness. Materials and methods. The research objectives were achieved by analysing the historio-graphical material concerning the formation of historical memory, the functions of modern urban museums, and the peculiarities of the emergence of amateur song clubs. The methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach using sociocultural and culturological approaches, on the basis of which it was possible to consider Vysotsky’s clubs as a certain social phenomenon with a characteristic set of features.
