ABERRATION OF EASTERN RELIGIOUS AND PHILOSOPHICAL IDEAS IN THE TEACHINGS OF OSHO

Popis: Aim. The article deals with the problem of studying the transformations of Eastern religious and philosophical ideas in new religious movements. The object of the research is the teachingof Osho. At the same time, the author interprets such transformations as aberrations caused by sociocultural factors. The analysis of aberrations of Eastern religious and philosophical ideas is considered in three main forms: the pseudoscience, universalization, humanization and social adaptation. Method and methodology of the work. The methodological basis of the research is the concept of religious individualism by D. Hervieu-Leger, in which a modern religious situation in the society and culture is interpreted as “bricolage” – a free construction of a teaching from various religious elements. Also, in the work the method of comparative studies, general scientific methods analysis and synthesis were used. Results. The work notes the changes occurring in Eastern religious and philosophical ideas in the teachings of Osho. These transformations are analyzed taking into account the identified three forms of aberration: the pseudoscience, universalization, humanization and social adaptation. The results scope of application. The results can be used in the analysis of new religious movements as well as additional materials for expert opinions and an additional material for optional classes in religious studies.
