Popis: As an important marine science and technology city in China, Dalian has a superior geographical location, rich marine resources, and huge development potential. In order to promote the development of ecological function in the southern sea area of Dalian and guarantee sustainable development, this paper analyzes the ecological environment status quo of the southern sea area of Dalian, puts forward the problems of marine resources development and discusses the feasibility and necessity of ecological development in the sea area. Additionally, this paper summarizes the concept of domestic and foreign sea area development, draws references from and compares the classic practices of marine protection, and proposes effective prevention and control countermeasures for ecological environment protection in the southern sea area of Dalian. The study also proposes an ecological development model for the southern Dalian sea area. This model is based on the synergistic cooperation between overall development and special research, the two-way flow of eco-tourism and cultural innovation, the complementary assessment mechanism and environmental monitoring, and the symbiotic development of environmental restoration and recreational fishery. The results of the study can provide a useful reference for the scientific and standardized construction of the southern sea area of Dalian. It can also promote the ecological development of the southern sea area of Dalian, provide a strong guarantee for the high-quality development of the marine economy, promote the coordinated development of the regional economic construction and the marine ecological construction, and promote the construction of the beautiful Dalian and the ocean center city.
