| Popis: | The discovery of an exceptionally well preserved Early Medieval quarry has enabled us to establish a scale 1 surveying technique to record tool marks preserved on the limestone quarry surfaces. The tools used and the precise technical extraction gestures have been identified thanks to an evaluation chart established on the basis of data from tool marks and experimentation. The use of an adze hammer has thus been evidenced for the first time. This tool entails an original extraction technique : vertical “V” shaped grooves producing characteristic trapezoidal blocks. |
