Do Middle School Students Know Electromagnetic Pollution?

Popis: | This study aims to determine how well the students know the electromagnetic pollution (electrosmog) formed by electrical and electronic devices that they use in their daily life. In the spring semester of 2014-2015 academic year, in a mid-school in Çanakkale, total number of 110 students (67 girls and 43 boys) at 5th, 6th, 7th Grades were asked about their opinions for the effects of electromagnetic field (EMA) and its effects on health. Results showed that students do not consider themselves to be knowledgeable about the electromagnetic field, although they are aware of the health effects of the electrosmog. This study is important to point the young people’ awareness to protect their health needs to be supported with knowledge. |
