Popis: Construction companies are booming both in urban and quickly developing cities throughout the world. Besides, the manufacturers and researchers are trying to focus more on lignocellulosic fiber-based cementitious materials to ensure sustainable products in this sector. Conversely, lignocellulosic fibers are available throughout the world. In this regard, cement-bonded lignocellulosic fiber composites (CLCs) are becoming more popular and superior than the conventional composites especially for the better tensile strength, flexural rigidity, modulus of elasticity, higher durability, dimensional stability, supreme thermal properties, and afterall friendliness to the environment. This paper would review about different mechanical and chemical properties of CLCs, their compatibility, feasibility, interactions, and the impact on the environment. Different bonding mechanisms, application, lignocellulosic fiber cement setting challenges, selection of raw materials (fibers/binders/cement), improvement of compatibility would also be discussed. Some recent reports regarding fiber particles/recycled materials from different plants and lignocellulosic fiber-based cement composites has been studied and analyzed to find out the relationship between lignocellulosic fiber cement optimum ratio, role of different accelerators, orientation of particles, and different functional properties has been discussed.
