Popis: | This study investigates selected literary works of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie from a new historicist point of view. It examines the concept of history as being treated and narrated in a subjective – as opposed to objective – manner by the white historians. The study correspondingly aims at investigating Adichie’s selected works that depict the pathway of return to history. In the light of these notional views, it provides a critical analysis to revisit, reshape and rewrite the pre-presumptive stands of racialized ideologies and cultures. Furthermore, it questions the position of postmodern blackness, especially of black women. To do so, the study examines literary depictions of the characters in Adichie’s works through historical roles and features given to them in the texts, discussing the ways in which the selected novels reflect a variety of experiences that the literary narrators wish to convey to the reader. |
