Popis:	Lebanese Hezbollah maintains close political ties with the Syrian government. The outbreak of the Syrian crisis in 2011 thus presented it with a dilemma. Hezbollah supported the demands of the popular protest movements that first shook the Arab world in December 2010, so how could it support a movement demanding the departure of one of its key allies? The author explores the problem through a comprehensive study of the speeches given by Hezbollah secretary general Hassan Nasrallah in 2013 in search of a better understanding of the political and religious context of his framing of the Syrian question.
