| Popis: | Orphanages worldwide are responsible for providing the support and resources for a whole development in the lives of orphans and vulnerable children. This research discusses the availability and ways of running orphanages in Bauchi State. Data are mainly generated through interview with orphanage directors across the study area and review of related literatures. The findings of the research offer an important clarity on the most common practices that orphanage houses use to care for orphans. It revealed that Among the main challenges in common practice of orphanages in Bauchi State includes; education, health, finances, and the staffing structure. It revealed that the status of extant practices in orphanages in the study area needs to be upgraded, the structure needs to be formalized and the directors need to educate. The future studies should follow these findings to measure the quality and effectiveness of the common practices in Bauchi orphanages as well as Nigeria at large. |
