Scleroderma-like lesions are a rare sign of carcinoid syndrome which have been associated with poor prognosis. They differ from systemic sclerosis by involving preferentially the skin in the lower limbs, lacking Raynaud's phenomenon and having no evidence of systemic sclerosis involvement. Patients are also negative for autoantibodies. We present a case of a patient with scleroderma-like lesions associated with an ileal neuroendocrine tumor with multiple liver metastasis. The patient was treated with octreotide, which resolved the scleroderma-like lesions completely, and is alive 7 years after scleroderma-like lesions diagnosis. |
