Popis: | This article provides evidence that pastoral folklore contains information about the evolution of the economic, social and politico-administrative situation of some territories east of the Carpathians. They are important for studying the past of the romanian population in this much-suffered territory from the period before 1400, less reflected in the written documents. For example, the ballad Mioriţa contains three layers. In the first layer would be reflected the social processes of the VIII-IX centuries, which are at the foundation of the mentioned ballad and constitute the national element of the folk work. The second level reflects the tragic event of 1359, in the valley of Moldova. During the following centuries, until it was collected by Aleco Russo and published by Vasile Alecsandri, the names of the characters of the ballad were specified, along with the hungarian and moldavian appearing the vrancean name, unknown in historical documents prior to the fifteenth century. Historically relevant information is also contained in the ballad Costea. |
