Popis: | Background: This study was done to investigate the effect of 17-β estradiol (E2) treatment on the potential of Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) for modulation of innate immunity responses in the animal model of Rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods: After isolation of MSCs, they were co-cultured with 100nµM 17-β estradiol for 24 h. RA was induced by collagen peptide and complete Freund's adjuvant in Wistar rats. One week after immunization, rats were allocated in groups received untreated MSCs (2×106 cells-intraperitoneal), received MSCs pulsed with estradiol and untreated rats. The change in the diameter of wrists and ankles of each rat was recorded every 5 days until 33 days after induction. Results: The edema and swelling of ankles in the positive control group (5.9 ± 0.6mm) was higher than the treatment groups. foot swelling in RA rats received MSCs treated with 17-β estradiol (1.69±0.45mm) were significantly decreased (P |
