Preparation and properties of high density polyethylene / silicone rubber thermoplastic vulcanizates

Popis: High density polyethylene (HDPE)/silicon rubber (MVQ) thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) was prepared by dynamic vulcanization. The effects of mass ratio of HDPE to MVQ as well as the tabletting process on the curing characteristics, mechanical properties, surface hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of TPV were investigated. The results showed that the dynamic curing degree of TPV increased with the increase of MVQ amount. The tensile strength, tear strength and elongation at break of TPV increased greatly with the extension of tabletting time. With the increase of MVQ amount, the contact angle of TPV increased gradually, and the corresponding surface tension decreased gradually.
