Popis: Osteocytes are mechanoresponsive within skeletal tissue. Here, the authors show that class IIa histone deacetylases are phosphorylated by focal adhesion kinase, suggesting that HDAC5 may propagate mechanobiological cues to regulate cell type-specific gene expression.
