Popis: Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors are mesenchymal tumors originating from the Muscularis Mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract. They most commonly occur in the Stomach resulting in upper gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding. Their symptoms vary according to tumor's site and size, but in general, they cause abdominal pain and GI bleeding that varies from asymptomatic occult bleeding to massive bleeding.Taking in consideration that GISTs tend to affect adult patients, they are very rare in children. In this case we present a gastric GIST in a female child that caused an occult bleeding resulting in severe anemia, through this we urge pediatricians to think of GIST when they face anemia case.
