Increasing evidence has shown that patients with stroke are at high risks of suicide， which seriously affects their prognosis and rehabilitation. The pathogenesis of post-stroke suicide is still unclear， which may be involved with the influence of biological， psychological， social and family factors， etc. Among them， post-stroke depression （PSD） is considered to be the strongest related factor of PSD. In addition， biological factors（such as changes in brain structures and 5-hydroxytryptamine dysfunction）or age and gender， may also mediate the suicide behavior of stroke patients. In this article， the latest research status of the pathogenesis of post-stroke suicide was reviewed， aiming to provide theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of post-stroke suicide. |
