Popis: Numerical modeling was carried out in a two-dimensional formulation of the process of outflow of an air stream into a closed area filled with liquid, in which there was a “chessboard” tube array. Liquids with significantly different densities (water, heavy liquid metal) are considered. It is shown that the process of the first pulsation of a gas cavity in such a region for liquid metal and water occurs in a similar way. The main difference between the outflow of gas into liquid metal and water is the rate of expansion and compression of the gas cavity. The rate of expansion and contraction of a cavity in liquid metal is approximately 2.9-3.5 times less than in water. The emergence of vortex structures behind the upper row of the tube array was discovered during the deceleration of the liquid in the maximum compression phase of the upper gas volume. It has been shown that the maximum pressure during compression of the upper gas volume can reach up to 300 MPa for liquid metal and up to 75 MPa for water (at a pressure in the outflow area equal to 18 MPa).
