Popis: This article tries to clarify the singular interest borne by Bruno Neveu (1936-2004) at the concept of romanity in its work devoted to the history of the papal magistery in the catholic Church. Combining the solidity of the contributions of an approach, which does not deny the inheritance of the historiographical positivism and the intuitions of an empathic reflection, the necessity of which Jean Orcibal had underlined, Bruno Neveu created an original method thanks to which he was able to put into dialogue history and theology to work out, while making bear fruit Alphonse Dupront's legacy, a reading of the ecclesial romanity whose richness and the innovative character are henceforth obvious.
