Popis: The multifaceted Cuban writer, José Martí, is one of the most representative literary figures of Latin American modernism. Although, in the field of letters, he is best known for his poetic production, he was also a notable translator, storywriter, playwright and chronicler. The present work aims to analyze one of the textual areas of the author's literary work to which the critics have paid relatively little attention: La Edad de Oro (1889). Our study focuses on two significant questions for the investigation of the journal: the way in which the subject of Marti's enunciation is constructed and the public to which it is addressed and projected on its pages.
