A study was carried out to determine the effect of two plant growth regulators, BA l, 8 %+G4+7 1,8% (Progerbalin) and BA 4% (Gerba), on induction of sylleptic shoots development in 1-year-old apple trees (cv. Golden Delicious). Four concentrations were applied for each hormone and applications were done two times. First application was carried out when average height of nursery tree was 70 cm, and the second one was done two weeks later. Unspreyed nursery trees as well as the nursery trees with two times removed terminal young leaves were used as a control variants. The different treatments with Progerbalin and Gerba chemicals did not influence diameter of rootstock and nursery tree at 10 cm above grafting union. Pinched and unspreyed nursery trees as well as the nursery trees which were subjected to lower concentrations of Gerba were the heighest. Sylleptic shoot development was directly affected by type and concentrations of applied hormone. Application of Gerba in the following concentrations of 7.5 mg/L and 15 mg/L were not expressed a positive influence on place with sylleptic shoots, total length and number of shoots, and number of shoots longer than 20 cm. The most positive effect was recorded on nursery trees with Gerba treatment in concentration of 45 mg/1. The treatments with lower concentrations of Progerbalin were showed satisfied results with the most optimal concentration of 30 mg/L. No statistically significant differences were observed between control treatment and treatment with pinching terminal young leaves on nursery trees. |
