CONCERNING THE TREATMENT TACTICS FOR PATIENTS WITH PAROTIDEOMASSETERIC PHLEGMONS

| Popis: | Purpose: development of the ways to optimize the treatment tactics for parotideomassetericphlegmons.Materials and methods: anatomic studies were carried out on 45 corpses following an original method (Russian Patent No.2271740), and 86 patients were examined. The patients were divided into two groups: control (42 patients) and main (42 patients), the latter treated in accordance with the developed method.Results: in cases of parotideomassetericphlegmon, elevation of the interstitial pressure (IP) by 20-30 mm Hg above the normal is an indication for fasciotomy. The second stage of the operation was reduced to 5 days for the main group (vs 7 days in the controls). Distant good results were obtained in 90.9% of the patients (54.8% in the controls). |
