Popis:	The literature review gives the present views of the diagnosis and treatment of alcoholic liver disease (ALD) and data on the genetic markers associated with the development of ALD and alcohol addiction. It discusses in detail the mechanisms of liver damage within the disease in question and substantiates indications for the use of prednisolone and pentoxifylline in alcoholic hepatitis. Therapeutic approaches to treating different forms of ALD are considered.
