Popis: The weekly review «L’Uomo Qualunque» was the most popular newspaper in Italy in the second postwar. Created by a Neapolitan playwright, Guglielmo Giannini, it was the voice of the discontent of the middle classes and strongly opposed the CLN governments and the antifascist political parties. The paper aims to provide analysis of the use of satire in the newspaper. It focuses on the section named «Le vespe», in which Giannini used jokes and humorous anecdotes to criticize the transition from fascism to democracy; in particular the epuration, the political system and its personnel.
