Popis: | To improve its ability to degrade nitrogen oxides (NOx), this study aims to optimize the photocatalytic activity, selectivity, and DeNOx index of TiO2 anatase nanopowder (PC105) by surface modification through metallic and bimetallic photodeposition with Cu and Pt. The photocatalytic performance of the samples is evaluated by NOx abatement measurement in the NOx reactor, while the samples are characterized by UV-Vis diffuse reflectance and an X-ray diffractometer. Based on the measurement, S6 (0.05% Pt PC105) exhibits a photonic efficiency of 0.17 for NOx degradation, with a value 2.15 times higher than that of bare TiO2. The DeNOx index, which is a value combining selectivity and photonic efficiency, indicates that S9 (0.05%Pt/0.1%Cu PC105) is the most efficient sample in the visible light region with a value of 0.01. However, under broadband illumination, S6 is found to have the highest DeNOx index of 0.13, while S9 is found to be at a moderate level with a DeNOx index of 0.019. All samples have a higher DeNOx index than the bare PC105. The bimetallic samples show the best performance under visible light, while the Pt-modified PC105 performs best in the broadband light region |
