Videoconferencing is an integral part of the initial training of physiotherapists. In this work, we wanted to evaluate the relevance of this medium in the context of the acquisition of theoretical knowledge. The objective of the study is to identify the transmission of theoretical knowledge through synchronous distance learning. Following a lecture, we evaluated the theoretical knowledge acquired by students in physical therapy in face-to-face and distance learning. Then we wanted to explain the results through the analysis of the learners' own vectors. We thus chose intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to bring a more detailed analysis. The results show no difference between the acquisition of theoretical knowledge in face-to-face and distance learning. However, through the analysis of the learner's individual factors, we identify differences between the extrinsic motivation identified and the integrated extrinsic motivation. The understanding of the results ultimately allows for a reflection on the design and evaluation of a lecture through this medium. The understanding of knowledge transfer is also a vector of improvement for a better transmission of theoretical knowledge in this initial training framework. This work also highlights the influence of motivation in the acquisition of knowledge. |
