Popis: The most significative of Jawlensky’s last series, the Meditations, represent high point of stylization and control of colour. From 1934 to 1937, the artist painted several of these modern icons in a very difficult situation, both economically and phisically. They represent a culmination of his oeuvre and his comitment to seriality. Considered as a kind of transcendental meditation, this series of heads represents its strategy against the contingent time.
