ABSTRACT According to the results of the previous publication by Kornyushina T.A. et al. the distance stereovision acuity (SA) was exceptionally high. In healthy emmetropic children and teenagers aged 10-15 years the mean SA at 5m was 1.0” and was 13.6 times better than at 33 cm. According to literature data the distance SA in healthy subjects is 10” and does not depend on the distance from the observer, though alternative opinions do exist. Peculiarities of the Stereopsis software not designed for a use at different distances could be one of the causes of the specific results of the paper by Kornyushina T.A. et al. |
