Popis: This article reflects the result of an ethnographic investigation that involved different educational instances: a museum of municipal history, educational walks organized by the Bahía Blanca Municipality to museums, and secondary schools. What these practices have in common is the reference to a historical event that took place 161 years ago in the current city of Bahía Blanca: the malon [sudden indigenous raid] of 1859. The objective of the article is to inquire about the processes of memories and knowledge production around this fact and in the contexts in which they occur. The selected instances have one common ground: the development of narratives for a high school audience. My hypothesis is that in spite of the predominance, in all three discourses the hegemonic narrative justifying the indigenous genocide for the sake of the constitution of the nation-state is starting to be questioned in high schools from an intercultural approach.
