This article presents an analysis of the solution that the states of the world have found to combat pollution and global warming, namely the financing of projects related to the environment by issuing green bonds and the particularities of their use in Romania. The environmental concern of states, corporations and financial institutions in recent years has become a priority because the consequences of global warming are being felt more and more, since 2010 and until now being registered the warmest 6 years. The need and why not the obligation to pay attention to climate change, to reduce the effects of global warming, but also to improve the living conditions of the population, makes in recent years a global concern to find solutions to existing problems, but also innovations to anticipate future effects. Starting from the examples of good practice such as Sweden and China, we consider that the solution of issuing green bonds for the environment can be a feasible opportunity for Romania as well. Following the study, we consider that in Romania, with the obtaining of the status of Emerging Secondary Market, in September 2020, the financing of investments from the bond issue can become an attractive solution for both investors and issuers, being able to channel investment funds that may aim the transition to climate neutrality. |
