Introduction: Ameloblastoma is a benign odontogenic tumor with a controversial prognosis due to its potentially aggressive and recurrent evolution. We report a case of brain invasion by a multi-recurrent angulo-mandibular ameloblastoma. Objective: Report the therapeutic difficulties and evolutive surprises of multi-recurrent ameloblastoma through the study of a case of cerebral invasion and a review of the literature. Observation: K. S., a 34-year-old female patient was seen in consultation in 2009 for a histologically confirmed ameloblastoma of the right mandibular angle. Operated four times after three recurrences, the patient was seen 11 years after the first diagnosis, in a pattern of intracranial hypertension syndrome and CT scan revealed a homolateral endocranial expansive process. Operated in neurosurgery in 2020, the patient died in the postoperative period. The histology of the surgical specimen obtained confirmed the diagnosis of plexiform ameloblastoma. Conclusion: The benignity of multi-recurrent ameloblastoma must be nuanced. A radical surgical treatment does not exclude recurrences and secondary localizations. |
