Popis: | Photogrammetry has been significantly transformed by surpassing traditional systems that identify homologous points based on the automatic stereoscopic vision or direct digitalization of computer screens using correlation algorithms that recognize homologous points from two or more photographs. This has led to the development of automatic correlation photogrammetry, which is also referred to as automated photogrammetry. Its architectural application primarily involves surveying facades for purposes ranging from graphic documentation to surface examination. In this study, we analyse the use of photogrammetry for the measurement of architectural vaults with a focus on the specific case of a singular ribbed vault in Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church in Valdemorillo, Madrid. Not only do we analyse how to obtain data needed for the geometrical study of a vault, but we cover the most remarkable milestones achieved through the development of architectural photogrammetry. |
