This case study, carried out in a Canadian French as a Second Language (FSL) university context, focusses on the analysis of two pedagogical scenarios that integrate Web 2.0 tools and aim to foster creativity, from the standpoint of the positive affects and learning that they might trigger and their motivational impact. While the link between creativity, positive affect and motivation is clear, the use of Web 2.0 tools brings about mixed feelings. Our analysis shows that learning has occurred, yet students perceive mostly the acquisition of knowledge at the expense of other types of learning, such as developing attitudes and skills. Therefore, the goal is to propose a pedagogical contract that fosters the adoption of new attitudes and skills as well as give them value in the student mindset. This research paper uncovers various leads concerning the strategic integration of Web 2.0 tools in pedagogical scenarios aiming to develop creativity. |
