Popis: The article examines the interrelated processes of new urbanization, the restructuring of the social structure of society and the intellectual atmosphere in the USSR in the 1960s-1980s. When analyzing the Soviet urban culture of that time, migration processes are emphasized, as well as the peculiarities of adaptation of rural migrants to the urban environment. The socio-cultural changes of the 1960s and 1980s brought to the fore the category of “personal life”, which is reflected not only in mass housing architecture and a variety of leisure activities, but also in art, in particular the cinema of those years. The article highlights the important role of samizdat not only in the completeness of the implementation of the literary process at that time, but also in the prompt response to the new linguistic picture of the country. The author emphasizes the growing critical and ironic component in the perception and understanding of Soviet reality in the general social climate of the period under review, including by cultural, scientific and artistic figures (among the main examples are the sarcasm of A.A. Zinoviev and the studies on the comic by Yu.B. Borev).
