Kotlyakov; the Method of “ratio “values” and “accessibility” in various spheres of life” E.B. Fantlova; the Method of “Spiritual crisis” L.V. Shutov, A.V. The interpretation of the obtained results was carried out by analyzing ethnopsychological, sociological, ethnographic, historical literature on this issue. Results. The high level of material needs, low motivation in familiarizing with spiritual values are the reasons for the spiritual crisis of Ossetians. This problem is caused not by ethno-cultural or mental peculiarities of Ossetians, but by the change of the system of social relations and the process of formation of consumer society. Reflection, the search for self-identification groups and institutions of social protection can become a resource zone for overcoming the spiritual crisis. The high importance of the family as an adaptive and protective institution determines that” Happy family life” for Ossetians is the leading need and at the same time the most conflict value because of its inaccessibility. Practical implications. The obtained results can be used in the implementation of measures to improve the activity and quality of life of representatives of different ethnic groups in specific regions of modern society.
