The objetive of this paper is to discuss how tourism affects local development in the city of corumbá/MS/Brazil. To this end, it was conducted a survey of bibliographic and descriptive exploratory qualitative survey through structured questionnaires mixed to 11 managers from the local tourist trade with a view to identifying relevant variables, subsequently classified according to the methodology of SWOT analysis with notes and weighting. The variables of tourism in municipality identified as most relevant to local development were precariousness of public policy, income concentration, high participation of local labor, social exclusión, low educational level, economic poverty of the local population. |
