Popis: This article is an analytical description of a teaching methodology based on the use of films as educational resources, which was implemented in the subject Modern World I, corresponding to the second year of the History Teaching Program of the Humanities College of Universidad Nacional del Litoral. Carried out in 2013, this college lesson was the result of a question raised by the Chair which had two main objectives: to try to deal with the low level of participation and the little interest shown by students in the classes and to review the topics addressed and discussed throughout the semester. So as to achieve these goals, we selected a fictional film based on the novel The Queen Margot by Alexandre Dumas, father, whose plot revolves around the events known as St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre which took place in France in the 16th C. Through this work, we will endorse the use of films as an alternative teaching resource to enhance interactions in the classroom and to promote the construction of knowledge, while pointing out the scope and limitations audiovisual productions have in the teaching of history and in the process of training future teachers of history.
