The paper analyses several archaeological features discovered during an excavation performed on the outskirts of Isaccea, during the summer of 2018, in the easternmost part of the Noviodunum archaeological site. Of the three documented features, two are funerary structures: one is a pit in which cremation remains and grave goods were deposited, while the other is either a ‘deviant’ burial, or a secondary burial of a part of the skeleton. The last feature offered inconclusive results. The grave goods discovered are numerous and diverse: different types of pottery, as well as metal artefacts. Thus, the following information completes the repertoire of funerary discoveries from Noviodunum and the northern part of the Roman province of Moesia Inferior. |
