A rare case of pelvic lipomatososis in a cadaveric renal transplant recipient

Popis: | A middle-aged male with end-stage renal disease underwent cadaveric transplantation. Intraoperatively, a large mass was seen in the pelvis surrounding the vessels, native ureter, and bladder. Ultrasound showed echogenic fatty tissue in the pelvis suggestive of pelvic lipomatosis vessels were dissected, layers were separated with a lot of difficulty. The urinary bladder could not be defined. Hence, ureteroureterostomy was done and a DJ stent was placed. The patient had immediate graft function and attained a nadir creatinine of 0.6 mg/dl on postoperative day 6. |
