Popis: | Biblical data support the fact that monetary relations have been a part of human history for over four millennia. The article argues the fact that elaborate money functions, the appearance of different currencies (coins) and monetary professions were unfortunately accompanied by a continuous degradation of human spirituality, to the point that love of money and hoarding became the usual forms of idolatry. The same downward trend under the influence of sin is represented by the lending relationship, loan gradually losing its quality of well-doer in favor of rather sophisticated commercial practices that steer benefits to the initiated, leaving the burden of risk in the financial system to the less informed masses of customers. |
