Videolaryngoscope as a rescue to fiber-optic intubation in a pediatric patient

Popis:	We report a case of 6-year-old child posted for excision of a large fragile tumor over the face compromising mask application for ventilation. Fiber-optic intubation with preserved spontaneous respiration was attempted. However, unfortunately, the fiber-optic endoscope stopped functioning, before entering the glottic opening. We assisted the endoscope with a videolaryngoscope to achieve successful intubation without disturbing the mass. This combination technique can be used as a rescue strategy if the fiber-optic endoscope malfunctions.
