| Popis: | A Merlin (Falco columbarius) specimen collected in Piemonte (NW Italy) in the winter of 1952 and preserved in the “Admetos Rolando Barberis” collection is here attributed to F. c. insignis, a subspecies breeding in north-eastern Siberia, east of the Yenisey River. This form is reported for the first time in Italy and Europe. |
