Green synthesis of functional oxides such as zinc oxide has been trending recently owing to their biomedical applications. This work involves a biosynthesis protocol using GONGROLEMA LATIFOLIUM (GL) aqueous extract as a stabilizing agent for the first time. The physicochemical properties of the obtained samples were determined using different techniques. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was employed to estimate the structural properties, while, the morphology structure was obtained using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The absorbance was obtained using UV–visible spectroscopy while the functional group was obtained using the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) Spectroscopy. The GL in the sample enhanced their biocompatibility, making it more suitable for biomedical applications. Some selected drug-resistant pathogens were used to evaluate the biomedical activities of the samples. Staphylococcus aureus showed higher activities compared with Escherichia coli, Enterobacter coliform and Ciprofloxacin. Hence, the formulated material is promising as a potential antimicrobial agent. |
