We study in this work the situation of the languages which are in contact in France and the language politics applied since French was established as the official language of the country, in order to determinate the perspectives of national recognition that exist for the other languages which still without official statute.The exclusive national treatment they have received until the end of the twentieth century faces nowadays the defense and protection position of the regional languages in the European Union. We are going to analyze both, national and European ones, before concluding in terms of expectations for these minority languages. |
