This paper aimed to study briefly the Map of the National Territory of Misiones, elaborated in 1881 at the time of the territorial dispute between Argentina and Brazil known as Palmas Dispute. This cartographic document that delimited part of Brazil as argentine territory is a useful material to understand maps as products of a given society. Therefore, it is possible to see the political interests that motivated the spatial appropriations through these maps. At first, this work outlined the historical context and, subsequently, some considerations were made. |
