Recipes in manuscripts are unstable texts, they appear in differnet manuscripts in multiple variations and were mostly handed down in anonymous, often thematically sorted collections. This article presents new methods and concepts for researching the transmission of individual recipes and recipe collections. It is using the example of art technological and cooking recipes of the Early New High German manuscript Cod. germ. 1 of the State and University Library Hamburg. In comparison to older research, the data structure is changed. The text events materialized in the manuscripts and recorded by the databases are assigned to imaginary texts in potentia. This allows a reduction of the entities and a clear visualization of the recipe transmission network as a graph. |
