On March 15, 2022, the amendments and additions made to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus at the republican referendum held in February 2022 came into effect. The new version of the Basic Law has fixed changes in the normative formalization of the constitutional principles of the Belarusian state, proclaimed as rule-of-law. Purpose: to analyze the constitutional principles provided for by the updated Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, embodying the model of the rule-of-law state. Methods: the author uses general scientific and specific scientific methods of cognition: analysis, synthesis, generalization, formal-logical and compar-ative-legal. Results: the new version of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, which entered into force on March 15, 2022, has changed some constitutional prin-ciples embodying the model of the rule-of-law state. Among them are the principles of people’s power and democracy, separation of powers and independence of the judiciary. Modernization, according to the author, also touched upon the issues of relations between the state and the individual, which resulted in a shift in emphasis on the state and state sovereignty. |
