Popis: During his education at Darüşşafaka, Ahmet Rasim tried to establish his literary manners by reading the novels and stories of Ahmet Mithat Efendi and his intellectual manners by means of Namık Kemal, one of the pioneers of new literature. The author, a follower of Ahmet Mithat Efendi in the field of journalism as well as in his literary works, has published articles and translations with signed, unsigned and pseudonyms in many newspapers and magazines published during his lifetime. Ahmet Rasim, one of the master pens of our literature; With his detailed observations, subtle sense of humor and sincere style, he has been recognized as a conservation and souvenir writer in our literature by transferring the way of life, customs and traditions of Istanbul to the reader in an entertaining style. Ahmet Rasim, who was among the first writers of Servet-i Fünun, which was one of the important magazines of the period, later took place against the members of Edebiyat-ı Cedide in the discussion of the Dedecans with the influence of the environment in which he was lcated. Ahmet Rasim published his critical articles about Servet-i Fünun in the columns titled “Şehir Mektupları and Istanbul Mektubu” in the Servet newspaper, which entered its publication life in 1898. Seventeen articles belonging to Ahmet Rasim were identified in the first 100 issues of the Servet newspaper, published between 3 June 1898-21 September 1898. Although it is known that the Şehir Mektupları belong to Ahmet Rasim, it has been determined that the Istanbul Mektupları also belong to him in the studied issues of the Servet newspaper. The study consists of three titles: the biography of Ahmet Rasim, his articles in Servet newspaper, and selected texts from his articles published in Servet.
Ahmet Rasim, Darüşşafakadaki eğitimi sırasında Ahmet Mithat Efendi’nin roman ve hikâyelerini okuyarak edebi terbiyesini; yeni edebiyatın öncülerinden olan Namık Kemal vasıtasıyla fikri terbiyesini oluşturmaya çalışmıştır. Edebi eserlerinde olduğu gibi gazetecilik alanında da Ahmet Mithat Efendi’yi takip eden yazar, yaşadığı yıllarda pek çok gazete ve dergide imzalı, imzasız ve takma isimlerle yazı ve çeviriler yayımlamıştır. Edebiyatımızın usta kalemlerinden biri olan Ahmet Rasim; ayrıntılı gözlemleri, ince mizah anlayışı ve samimi üslubu ile İstanbul’un yaşayış biçimi, örf, adet ve geleneklerini eğlenceli bir üslupla okuyucuya aktararak edebiyatımızda sohbet ve hatıra yazarı olarak tanınmıştır. Dönemin önemli dergilerinden olan Servet-i Fünun’un ilk yazarları arasında bulunan Ahmet Rasim, daha sonraları içinde bulunduğu çevrenin etkisi ile Dekadanlar tartışmasında Edebiyat-ı Cedidecilerin karşısında yer almıştır. Ahmet Rasim, Servet-i Fünun’a dair eleştiri yazılarını 1898 tarihinde yayın hayatına giren Servet gazetesinde “Şehir Mektupları ve İstanbul Mektubu” başlıklı sütunlarda yayımlamıştır. Servet gazetesinin 3 Haziran 1898-21 Eylül 1898 tarihleri arasında yayımlanmış ilk 100 sayısında Ahmet Rasim’e ait on sekiz yazı tespit edilmiştir. “Şehir Mektupları”nın Ahmet Rasim’e ait olduğu bilinmekle birlikte Servet gazetesinin çalışılan sayılarında “İstanbul Mektupları”nın da ona ait olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma Ahmet Rasim’in biyografisi, Servet gazetesindeki yazıları, Servet’te yayınlanan yazılarından seçilmiş metinler olmak üzere üç başlıktan oluşmaktadır.
