Popis: | In municipal solid wastelandfills operating as bioreactor process, leachate recirculation is the keyprocess for increasing moisture content in order to optimize the wastebiodegradation. Given that liquid flows exhibit a complex behaviour in veryheterogeneous porous media, in situ monitoring methods are required to assesshorizontal leachate injection system. Among the physical measurementsavailable, the authors propose a prompt geophysical investigation usingFrequency Domain Electromagnetic Method (FDEM). During leachate injectionevent, this technique highlights changes in electrical conductivity of thewaste deposit cell induced by variations of water content. Measurementprocedure and preliminary monitoring results are presented applied to a waste depositcell operated as a bioreactor. First results suggest that this technique issuitable for a quick assessment of horizontal leachate injection systems atindustrial scale. |
