Popis: Models and standards used for the definition of software quality, which is oneof the knowledge areas of software engineering, are becoming more and more valuableday by day. The most important pillars of software quality are the definition of softwareprocesses in accordance with institutional requirements, management of processes andimprovement of processes systematically. When international process improvement modelsand standards taken as a basis, high quality standards can be accomplished within plannedschedule and budget. Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is one of the mostserious models that came out of the combination of the best management practices insoftware development, maintenance and process improvement. Utilization of a CASE(computer aided software engineering) tool in software process improvement activities helpsthe establishment of an efficient process improvement system, an effective configurationmanagement system and the establishment of a robust metric infrastructure. In this paper, firstly, Organizational Process Definition and Organizational Process Focus process areasare introduced that address organizational process improvement practices which belongsto the CMMI Process Management category. At the same time, case studies regardingthe usage of CASE tools are presented. Additionally, the results of a user survey which isperformed to reveal the impact of CASE tool usage for process improvement practices arepresented and the evaluation of the results against the CMMI model is provided.
